Dispatch RoomThe Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center receives all non-emergency calls for service for the Sheriff’s Office.

The Communication Center is also the initial contact point for citizens coming in to the Sheriff’s office for service.

The Communication Center operates twenty four hours a day 7 days a week. It operates with one Communication Officer per shift. Communication Officers receive specialized training in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD).

The Communication Division consists of four full time Communications Officers and three part time Communication Officers. After receiving a call for service, the Communication Officer then dispatches the deputy or Fire/EMS agency needed for the call.

The Communication Center has contact with over 650 people who come into the Sheriff’s Office each month. The Communication Center also receives over 2,300 telephones calls and over 250 9-1-1 calls each month.
