CCMEP Youth Program:
The Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program is for eligible youth between the ages of 14-24 that can receive assistance with obtaining their high school diploma or GED, developing employability skills, obtaining work experience and soft skills and more through the following services:

  • Paid or unpaid work experience
  • Occupational skills training
  • Integrated education and training
  • Labor market information
  • Activities that help youth prepare for and transition to postsecondary education and training
  • Supportive services
  • Financial literacy education
  • Entrepreneurial skills training
  • Tutoring, Study skills and dropout recovery services
  • Leadership development activities
  • Adult mentoring
  • Comprehensive guidance and counseling
  • Follow up services

OhioMeansJobs Van Wert County works to promote a workforce system that offers individuals, employers and the community the opportunity to achieve and sustain economic prosperity. Life180
Life180 is a one week program that is made up of interesting and valuable workshops that assist participants with finding employment, preparing for interviews and networking to name a few. Participants also receive one-on-one case management where they will receive individual assistance to accomplish their career, education and personal growth goals. Participants who complete all the workshops have the potential to earn financial assistance for training, purchasing uniforms, supplies and other items required for their new employment needs.

Prevention, Retention and Contingency Assistance (PRC)
PRC assistance is available to Van Wert County residents with minor child who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty level for the family size.

  • Automobile Repair
  • Assistance with testing fees, license plates, drivers license/state IDs, and Birth Certificates as it relates to training or employment

Ongoing Services

  • Gas Vouchers
  • Vocational testing/assessment or GED testing and fees
  • OJT assistance

Employment Incentive Program

  • Available to those who reduce or lose their OWF (Cash) or SNAP (food assistance) benefits by gaining or increasing their employment
