Children Services is responsible for providing services to keep children safe and in their own homes when possible, and to reunify as quickly as possible when children cannot remain at home. Report abuse and neglect by calling 419-238-5430. Emergency calls outside of agency hours should be directed to the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office at 419-238-3866 or the Van Wert City Police Department at 419-238-2462.
Adult Protective Services help vulnerable adults age 60 and older who are abused, neglected, or exploited. Report abuse and negelect by calling 419-238-5430, option 0 and speaking with the Worker of the Day.

Child Care assists income eligible working parents receive quality care for their children in licensed homes and centers by subsidizing the cost on a sliding scale. Child Care applications are available at the front desk, or can be mailed by contacting the desk at 419-238-5430, Option 0. If you are interested in becoming a licensed child care provider, ask for the Child Care Program at 419-238-5430, Option 0.
